Pre-TPS Board Meeting Notes: January 12, 2026
The community pool is listed as an action item at on Monday's agenda.
Greetings gang,
I wanted to get this out ahead of tomorrow’s Tecumseh Public Schools board meeting and draw your attention to three agenda items.
Under Discussion Items, the board will discuss the Tecumseh Community Memorial Pool and a recreation millage. The pool is also listed as an action item for the Monday meeting.
What the board will discuss and decide tomorrow regarding the pool is unclear. The board discussed the pool at the previous meeting on December 8, when the district’s consultants presented three potential options for the facility. Those included demolition, an all-new facility, or repairs to the current facility—at a cost likely exceeding the sinking fund millage.
You can read more about it here at AnthonyAlaniz.com.
The Problem With Not Publishing Agenda Packets
This publication has been a fierce advocate for the district to publish the board packets, and I will continue that mission.
It’s inexcusable. The area districts listed below all publish agendas that provide more information about their business than Tecumseh does.
The public does not know what decision the school could make tomorrow about the pool, and that’s a disservice to the community.
I implore you to click through the links above and see what true transparency looks like. If the district truly cares about being transparent with the community, it’ll publish the packets because anything less is lip service at this point.
If you car about any of the agenda items, please attend the next school board meeting, which is tomorrow, Monday, January 12, at 6 p.m. in the Tecumseh High School’s media center.
There's one public comment period at the beginning of the meeting.
